2012 Mock Draft 7 Rounds

*Updated 4/26/12 (Round 7 Added)*

*Updated 4/26/12 (Round 7 Added)*

ROUND 1

1. Indianapolis Colts -- ANDREW LUCK [QB; STANFORD]

Team Needs -- QB, DE, WR, OLB, TE, NT, CB

No debate here. The best QB prospect since Peyton Manning/John Elway, he can make every throw and is a better athlete than he’s given credit for. He showed that athletic ability at the Combine where he matched Cam Newton in every category and had better numbers than Tim Tebow.

  • TRADE ALERT:  The Redskins trade up to #2 and select ROBERT GRIFFIN III, Redskins give up pick #6 and #39 to the Rams in 2012 plus two future 1st Round picks.

2. Washington Redskins -- ROBERT GRIFFIN III [QB; BAYLOR]

Team Needs -- QB, WR, NT, DE, OL, LB, CB, S

The Redskins give up a lot but they need to get a franchise QB to compete with the Giants/Eagles/Cowboys and that QB is Griffin. RG3 has everything you look for in a Franchise QB, a strong arm, accurate throwing the ball to all fields and great mobility. He’s not a running QB who just takes off if his first read is covered; he goes through his progressions and only runs when all other options are out the window.

3. Minnesota Vikings -- MATT KALIL [LT; USC]

Team Needs -- LT, CB, WR, RG, RB, FS, DT

*Update: This now sounds like CB Claiborne but I still think it’s a smokescreen, sticking with Kalil for now

Now that the Rams have traded out of #2 pick the debate begins with LT Matt Kalil vs. WR Blackmon vs. LSU CB Morris Claiborne but I think they give Ponder a true Elite Left Tackle to protect his blind side. Rumors have it that the Vikes really want to trade down and accumulate more picks; it just doesn’t make any sense with Kalil right here for the taking. Stay tuned.

At 6-foot-7, 295-pounds, Kalil is so good that his play at LT kept last year’s #9 overall pick, Tyron Smith, at RT while at USC. With Percy Harvin on the roster, LT is a bigger need. I expect a good WR to be available in the 2nd and CB’s in the third.

4. Cleveland Browns -- TRENT RICHARDSON [RB; ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- WR, QB, RB, RT, OLB, DE

He’s the most complete prospect at RB since Adrian Peterson and can take all the pressure off Colt McCoy to move the chains. The question is do they see a franchise QB in Ryan Tannehill and pull the trigger here?

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- MORRIS CLAIBORNE [CB; LSU]

Team Needs -- CB, RB, DT, OLB, RT, C, WR,

If the Browns do take QB Tannehill it comes down to RB Trent Richardson or CB Morris Claiborne…

I’ve had Richardson here for the past month but now he’s off the board.  I don’t think the Bucs will pass on the elite RB if he’s available even though CB is a bigger need. CB Talib could be cut and R. Barber maybe has one year left the FA signing of Eric Wright doesn’t really change things as he’s a #2 corner at best. Claiborne is one of six elite prospects I see in this draft.

  • TRADE ALERT: Rams trade down from #2 and receive #6 and #39 from the Redskins in 2012 plus two future 1st Round picks.

6. St. Louis Rams -- JUSTIN BLACKMON [WR; OKLAHOMA STATE]

Team Needs -- LT, WR, CB, SLB, C, RB, FS

Blackmon compares to Michael Irvin without the knuckle head factor or better version of A. Boldin. They may have had Matt Kalil rated higher but the picks they obtained from the Redskins were enough to move down four spots. Rams need to give Bradford weapons and protection on the O-Line.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars-- MELVIN INGRAM [DE/OLB; SOUTH CAROLINA]

Team Needs -- WR, DE, LG, RT, QB, DT

*The Jaguars are trying hard to trade down (Eagles or Jets) The Eagles want Fletcher Cox and the Jets want Melvin Ingram.  The Jags want to move back to pick up the best WR available or CB Gilmore.

Melvin Ingram is now the top pass-rush specialist in the 2012 Draft, he and DE J. Clowney where two of the most feared sack artists in all college football. WR is the team’s biggest need but I can’t see GM Gene Smith going after WR Michael Floyd given his character concerns.  A reach WR like Kendall Wright or CB Gilmore is not out of the question as the Jags have been known to surprise on draft day. I don’t think Reiff or Coples are in play here. CB Gilmore could be the surprise pick here.

8. Miami Dolphins -- RYAN TANNEHILL, QB, TEXAS AM.

Team Needs -- QB, OLB, DE, WR, RT, S

Someone is going to draft Tannehill in the Top 10 picks. I think it comes down to the Browns or the Dolphins with the latter pulling the trigger. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound Tannehill started his career as a WR and has only 20 starts at QB under his belt but has shown all the tools to be a 1st round pick following a foot injury. He does have a little Phillip Rivers to his delivery and you can see the prototypical size to become a good starting QB and Sherman was Tannehill’s QB coach at Texas AM.

9. Carolina Panthers -- FLETCHER COX, DT, MISSISSIPPI ST.

Team Needs -- CB, DT, S, RT, WR, OLB

The Panthers big need is at DT and Cox is the best of this years stacked class.  Fletcher Cox is a huge disruptive force in the middle that excels at getting into the backfield. LB Luke Keuchly and CB Gilmore seems to be the other option but Cox looks like the pick

10. Buffalo Bills -- MICHAEL FLOYD [WR; NOTRE DAME]

Team Needs -- DE, LT, TE, WR, QB, CB, OLB

Well, DE is no longer a need area after the great signing of Mario Williams but the Bills still need WR weapons.  Most have OT Riley Reiff here but I think the Bills take the talented WR over Reiff and Safety Mark Barron.

He ran much faster at the Combine than most expected (4.4, 40) and has always shown good hands and the ability to physically dominate smaller corners. Additional O-Line help is the other big need area.

11. Kansas City Chiefs -- LUKE KEUCHLY [MLB; BOSTON COLLEGE]

Team Needs -- CB, OL, WR, QB, RB, NT, S, ILB

He’s Brian Urlacher 2.0.  Standout OG DeCastro also makes a lot of sense but I think they take the Best Player Available which is Keuchly. Keuchly showed all the athletic ability you needed to see at the combine and should be a top 15 pick. He is a complete LB prospect with everything you look for in a defensive leader.  He’s just a tackling machine. Sleeper pick would be DT/DE Michael Brockers.

12. Seattle Seahawks -- QUINTON COPLES [DE/OLB; NORTH CAROLINA]

Team Needs -- QB, DE, OG, WR, CB, DT, LB

The Seahawks would take QB Ryan Tannehill but won’t move up to get him. LB Luke Keuchly makes a lot of sense here too as they need upgrades all over the LB position.

The 6-foot-5, 280 lbs. Coples is everything you look for out of a 4-3 DE and has an impressive combination of size and speed. He flashed his freakish ability at the Combine but what struck me was what NFL Analyst Greg Cosell had to say. Cosell mentioned Coples struggles at getting after the QB in 2011 and thinks his best position would be as the anchor at Left D-End in a 4-3 Defense and that is the need area here. His stock is on the decline due to questions about his work ethic.

13. Arizona Cardinals -- RILEY REIFF [OT; IOWA]

Team Needs -- LT, OLB, WR, ILB, CB

Rumor has it they covet WR Michael Floyd and will take him if available. OL is the biggest need so it comes down to OG DeCastro or OT Reiff; I think they take Reiff because they think they can make a Left Tackle out of him. Reiff may be best served as a right tackle given his below average arm length (which drops his draft stock).  Reiff’s stock is on the decline much like Iowa’s Brian Buluga from a few years ago.

14. Dallas Cowboys -- MARK BARRON [SS: ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- C, CB, ILB, S, OG, OLB

The secondary is still a need area (even with the addition of CB Carr) and CB’s Kirkpatrick and S. Gilmore are vying to be the 2nd CB off the board (it now seems set that Gilmore will be the #2 CB drafted).  Safety Mark Barron is by far the best Safety in this class and there will be CB’s available later as well as pass-rushers.  Slight edge here to Barron over any CB/DT or pass-rusher.  A DT/DE like Poe or Brockers seem to be in play here but Barron should be the BPA and it also keeps him away from the Eagles.

15. Philadelphia Eagles -- MICHAEL BROCKERS [NT/DT; LSU]

Team Needs – LT, MLB, OLB, DT, S, WR, G, C

*They want to move up to the Jags pick at #7 for DT Fletcher Cox, it will be costly but the Birds have been known to move up for a player they covet. I don’t think S Mark Barron will be available but DE Quinton Coples might fall to this spot giving them the option of Brockers vs. Coples.

If they can’t trade up for Fletcher Cox, I think Brockers will be the pick. He’s not a household name yet but he will be. He’s a Stout Run stuffer but not much of a pass-rusher.  He may have the most potential in this class at D-line. DT Dontari Poe outshined him at the Combine but Brockers has the better tape from the 2011 season.

16. NY Jets -- COURTNEY UPSHAW [DE/OLB; ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- RT, WR, QB, S, OLB

Update: Now hearing rumors they may try to trade up for RB stud Trent Richardson at #3.

*The Jets are trying to trade up to #7 to select DE/OLB Melvin Ingram, how much will it cost is the question.  I can see this trade happening so expect a lot of buzz heading into draft day.

This seems too logical to not happen. Upshaw is exactly the type of player this defense needs coming off the edge as a 3-4 OLB.  Upshaw can get after the QB and that’s what the Jets need.

Other areas of need are a new RT, pass-rushing OLB, WR and a Safety like Mark Barron . Hearing rumors that Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd is very much in play for the Jets as is Alabama Safety Mark Barron.  Bama 3-4 outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw would be the ideal pick even though some see him as more of a 4-3 DE given his size. His stock is all over the place right now.  A player to look out for is Syracuse DE/OLB Chandler Jones but for now I’m sticking with Upshaw.

17. Cincinnati (f/Oakland) -- STEPHON GILMORE [CB; SOUTH CAROLINA]

Team Needs -- CB, LG, WR, RB, S, DE

The Bengals have been one of the best drafting teams over the last few years and have a great young core of players on both sides of the ball.  With Leon Hall coming off season ending surgery and Nate Clements up there in age adding a CB is a high priority.

Gilmore is another tall (6’0” 190 lbs.) CB who projects well into their system and stock is on the rise and is a steal here. There are rumblings now that Gilmore could go in the top 10 to a team like the Jags at #7 overall.

18. San Diego Chargers -- DAVID DECASTRO [OG; STANFORD]

Team Needs -- T, G, OLB, DE, ILB, CB, SS

He should go higher than this but for now he’s here. The Chargers need to re-work their entire O-Line and can start with the best Guard prospect in the draft.  He’s the rare interior O-Line prospect that is worth a top 20 pick and is actually a steal here. A pass-rushing OLB (Nick Perry) seems to be the other option.

19. Chicago Bears -- CHANDLER JONES, DE/OLB, SYRACUSE.

Team Needs -- LT, WR, TE, G, S, DE, LB

*Update: It looks like they will select the highest rated DE.

Everyone is projecting a DE here and it now looks like that’s the way it will fall.  Jones is great value here. Chandler Jones excels at getting after the QB and could easily go in the top 15, injuries are the only concern.  Great bloodlines; his brother plays for the Ravens and his other brother is UFC legend Jon “Bones” Jones. They could still look at a WR even after adding Brandon Marshall or a DE if North Carolina’s Quinton Coples falls to pair up with Peppers. I’ve gone away from Left Tackle.

20. Tennessee Titans -- WHITNEY MERCILUS [DE/OLB; ILLINOIS]

Team Needs -- C, G, DE, MLB, SS, DT, WR

Dave Ball and Jason Jones are both UFA's and more production is needed from the DE position from a pass rush standpoint. The Illinois pass-rusher has Jason Pierre Paul-type potential, I definitely think Mercilus could rise towards the top of the first round and be this draft's Aldon Smith. But we’ll leave him at 20 for now.

The interior O-Line needs to be addressed to help out CJ2K but no guards/centers present value here. It doesn’t look like CB Gilmore will fall to 20 but CB Dre Kirkpatrick should be here and seems like the other logical option.

21. Cincinnati Bengals – CORDY GLENN [OT/OG; GA.]

Team Needs -- CB, LG, WR, RB, S, DE

I’m giving them the top O-Lineman available whose draft stock is really on the rise after an amazing Combine.  Glenn is from a pro offense and can play LT/ OG or RT. Everyone’s ready to move him away from LT but his tape shows some signs that he can stay there with improved footwork. But for now he can play Guard or RT but eventually could be moved to Left Tackle.  My sleeper pick here would be Miami RB Lamar Miller.

22. Cleveland Browns (f/Atlanta) -- KENDALL WRIGHT [WR; BAYLOR]

Team Needs -- WR, QB, RB, RT, OLB, DE

The Browns keep this pick and use it to add an offensive weapon. Wright’s draft stock was on the decline after running poorly at the combine. Most were expecting a sub 4.4 forty and he ran a 4.61. His stock is now back up after running in the 4.4’s at his pro day. The thing is when you watch the tape he plays fast and that’s all that really matters.  This would be a welcome addition for the Browns to pair with Greg Little and a new RB. His stock is all over the place right now.  This could be the place they take QB Brandon Weeden.

23. Detroit Lions -- DRE KIRKPATRICK [CB; ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- OT, LB, CB, C, RB, DE, S

I was predicting this is the year the Lions finally get their franchise Left Tackle to protect Stafford but that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen in the 1st round with the fall of Ohio State’s LT Mike Adams.  The other need area is CB and they get a great one here with Dre Kirkpatrick, a big-physical cover corner that improves the whole Defense.  You need a #1 CB in the NFC North with all the talent at WR.  O-Line, DE and outside linebacker are also needs for Detroit.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers -- DONT'A HIGHTOWER [ILB; ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- LG, LT, NT, DE, ILB, CB

This pick seems like a lock unless the Ravens jump in front of them.  At 6-foot-2, 250 pounds, Hightower is a physical run stuffing linebacker who has the strength to shed blocks and attack the ball carrier.  He was the leader and signal caller for the best college Defense and his overall presence improves the already talented Defense.

25. Denver Broncos -- DONTARI POE [NT/DT; MEMPHIS]

Team Needs -- CB, DT, WR, C, G, RB, MLB, S

Dontari Poe’s stock is all over the place, he could go anywhere in round 1.  The problem is his Combine numbers don’t match his game tape.

The Broncos are still looking for that DT to bring pressure up the middle while their outside linebackers continue to create havoc. This is a great year to need a DT. Do they go need at DT or give Peyton Manning more weapons like GT WR Stephen Hill…I’m thinking DT…for now.

Dontari Poe was the “winner” of the Combine. People are going as far as to compare him to Haloti Ngata and Poe’s Combine numbers say that’s correct. He was excellent in every aspect of the combine looking nimble in drills and the 40 yard dash while tipping the scales at 350lbs. His stock is on the decline.

26. Houston Texans -- STEPHEN HILL, WR, GEORGIA TECH

Team Needs -- WR, G, NT, SS, CB, C

The 6-4, 220 Hill had a great Combine raising his stock from a possible 3rd round pick all the way to 1st round consideration. He's a great talent who just needs time to develop.  GT keeps sending out WR prospects with tremendous upside, it’s just a shame GT still runs the triple option and these weapons are underutilized. His stock is on the rise.

27. New England (f/New Orleans) -- NICK PERRY [DE/OLB; USC]

Team Needs -- WR, CB, S, C, DT, DE, OLB

I’m really starting to think this pick could be OLB Shea McClellin but for now I’m sticking with the higher upside pick of Perry. The Pats need to upgrade the DE/OLB positions along with CB and Safety.  Perry is the pass-rusher the Pats need and as the Giants can tell you; nothing covers up a suspect secondary like a great pass rush. The Patriots run both the 4-3 and 3-4 fronts and Perry fits as a DE or OLB.

The last time they had pick #27 they traded it to the Packers…they selected OLB Clay Matthews. Keep this pick Bill.

28. Green Bay Packers –SHEA MCCLELLIN, DE/ OLB, BOISE ST

Team Needs -- OLB, DE, CB, RB, OT, S, C

They seem to covet McClellin and the only way he’s gone is if the Pats take him at pick 27.  The Packers need a big time pass-rusher opposite of Clay Matthews. McClellin excels at getting to the QB and a great fit in the Packers 3-4 D. His stock is on the rise.

29. Baltimore Ravens -- PETER KONZ [OC/OG WISCONSIN]

Team Needs -- LT, S, WR, C, ILB, OG

Birk is back but OG Grubbs took the money and ran. Konz fills a big need along the interior O-Line and was dominant throughout his college career on the big time Wisconsin O-Line which keeps turning out great prospects. Konz can take over for Grubbs and eventually take over at Center when Birk is done. Rumors are they could select a WR here.

30. San Francisco 49ers -- JEREL WORTHY [DT/DE MSU.]

Team Needs -- WR, G, CB, S, DE

The 49ers really don’t have many needs given their solid overall roster and WR free agent signings.  The only real hole is at Guard and everyone is mocking a Guard here but I think they grab one in round 2.  They could look to add a young 3-4 DE to play the 5-technique as the best player available. I don’t see a guard here worth the 30th pick as that may be their only real need area along with CB Depth. TE Colby Fleener would be the sleeper pick along with OG Amini Silatolu, Midwestern St (The popular pick).

31. New England Patriots – HARRISON SMITH [SS; NOTRE DAME]

Team Needs -- WR, CB, S, C, DT, DE, OLB

Update: Now hearing this pick could be Notre Dame Safety Harrison Smith as CB Janoris Jenkins is really falling.

Harrison Smith is the top talent available and the only other Safety with a 1st round grade.  After Barron and Smith the safety class gets weak real quick.  He can be an explosive player with his combination of size and speed.  He could be the Packers 1st Round pick at # 28.

32. NY Giants – JONATHAN MARTIN [LT; STANFORD]*

Team Needs -- TE, OL, RB, LB, CB, WR, S

The Giants traded a 5th round pick to the Bengals for weak side linebacker Keith Rivers and plan to move Michael Boley to middle linebacker so MLB is no longer a pressing need but if Alabama MLB Dont’a Hightower slips to #32 he makes sense as the best player available even though he may be better suited in a 3-4 Defense.

Martin stands 6’6, 305 pounds and is your prototypical Left Tackle prospect; this move would improve the entire O-Line, need meets value with this pick. His stock is on the decline but this is great value at 32 and they need to protect Eli Manning.  He was once rated as a top 10 pick but he’s sliding, I think the slide stops here.

I don’t think the Giants can afford to pass on a talent like Martin.  As it stands now the Giants O-Line would be Beatty at LT, Diehl at LG, Bass at C, Snee at RG and James Brewer at RT.  So it’s clear if a LT talent like Moose Martin (who protected Andrew Luck’s blind side for the last 3 years) is available for the Super bowl champs he should be strongly considered even if he has to start at Right Tackle.

A big time TE like Stanford’s Colby Fleener is possible with Jack Ballard and Travis Beckum both tearing their ACL's in the Super Bowl. A RB like Doug Martin makes a ton of sense too. The sleeper of this group would be another DE like Syracuse’s Chandler Jones (Younger brother of UFC legend Jon “Bones” Jones) or DE Quinton Coples North Carolina if he free falls.  The GMEN always go best player available so we’ll just have to see who falls.

Round 2

33. St. Louis-
BOBBY MASSIE, OT, MISSISSIPPI.

The tackle positions need an upgrade. Massie is best suited at RT but has a chance at LT. The Rams need to find CB’s and LB’s on defense as well as WR’s and O-Lineman for Bradford.

34. Indianapolis- COLBY FLEENER, TE, STANFORD

The Colts are in a complete rebuild and TE Dallas Clark will be gone. Fleener was Luck’s security blanket at Stanford and is a better value than any receiver here and will be a great pass-catching TE for Luck.  This is a great pick.

35. Minnesota- ALSHON JEFFREY [WR; SOUTH CAROLINA]

Jeffrey showed up at the Combine at 6’3” 216 lbs. There were rumors that he was up to 240lbs so we have that settled. At the Combine he elected to do nothing, no 40, no bench and no WR Drills.  His draft stock is all over the place right now but we’ve seen 1st round ability. He ran great at his pro day and shed more weight; I can’t see a talent like this fall past the Vikings.  He’s a potential #1 WR to go along with their new franchise Left Tackle.

36. Tampa Bay- DOUG MARTIN, RB, BOISE ST.

Martin has established himself as a true every down back. He is a good runner with developing blocking skills. Similar to Ray Rice when he came out of Rutgers, also a 2nd round pick. He could go late in the 1st.

37. Cleveland- BRANDON WEEDEN, QB, OKLAHOMA STATE

Weeden played pro baseball (Yankees, 2nd Round) out of High School and is 28 years old; if he was five years younger he’d be looked at as a mid-1st round prospect.  He is pro ready now.

38. Jacksonville- MOHAMED SANU WR RUTGERS.

The Jags have to get Gabbert some weapons to see if he’s any good, expect multiple WR picks. Sanu is a high character player which GM Gene Smith will love.

39. St. Louis (f/Washington) - DAVID WILSON, RB, VA TECH.

The offensive overhaul continues, Wilson is a 1st round talent and Defenses will have to respect the outside running of Wilson and that will free up the receivers. His freakish athletic ability was on display at the combine, the only flaw to his game has been fumbling.

40. Carolina- BRANDON BOYKIN, CB, GEORGIA.

Boykin has the size and skillset to be a good one.  The Panthers have a big need at CB

41. Buffalo-
MIKE ADAMS [OT; OHIO STATE]

The OSU Tackle was on the rise after a great Senior Bowl but fell back a bit after an average Combine and now hearing that he tested positive for pot at the combine so his draft stock is in limbo right now

42. Miami-
LAVONTE DAVID, LB, NEBRASKA

David is one of the better LB's in the draft. He is just way undersized. Really moving up draft boards, an upgrade at outside linebacker is needed.

43. Seattle- MYCHAL KENDRICKS - ILB – CALIFORNIA

The Seahawks could use a couple of LB’s.

44. Kansas City-
NICK FOLES, QB, ARIZONA.

If they miss out on Tannehill, QB Nick Foles could come off the board here.  He has huge upside and they need a QB for the future.

45. Dallas-
ANDRE BRANCH [DE/OLB; CLEMSON]

1st Round value and can get after the QB playing OLB in the 3-4.

46. Philadelphia-
KEVIN ZEITLER, G, WISCONSIN

Another great Wisconsin interior lineman could go as high as 49ers in Round. 1.  I expect multiple picks along the O-Line.

47. New York Jets-RUEBEN RANDLE, WR, LSU.

The Jets will need to upgrade their WR position no matter who is throwing the ball. The 6-foot-4, 208-pounder has the size/speed and hands you look for in a #1 WR prospect.  The QB play at LSU was a train wreck so we haven’t seen what he can really do yet but all the tools are there.

48. New England–( f /Oakland)-
JANORIS JENKINS [CB; NORTHERN ALABAMA]

Everyone is saying Jenkins will fall out of the 1st Round due to all the off the field problems. He’s simply too good to fall any further than this and he may be the best pure cover corner in the draft.  Jenkins could have been a Top 10 draft pick but a couple of drug arrests got him kicked out of Florida. He played last year at Northern Alabama and showed off his skills at the combine. He was honest with all the decision makers at the combine talking about his 4 children with 3 different women and his multiple (3) marijuana arrest. He came off well and seems to have turned his life around and he’s a perfect fit for the secondary. BB does love players from the U of Florida. His stock is on the decline.

49. San Diego-RONNEL LEWIS, OLB, OKLAHOMA.

The Chargers need a player who can get to the QB. Lewis is a straight line pass rusher who can do what Larry English was supposed to do.

50. Chicago- TRUMAINE JOHNSON, CB, MONTANA ST.

Johnson (6’2, 200) has great tools and possesses a large frame. He is flying up draft boards.  Johnson can play CB and SS.

51. Philadelphia - from Arizona- ZACH BROWN OLB N.C.

Brown has freakish athletic ability and is the best value here as a WILL linebacker.

52. Tennessee- JAYRON HOSLEY, CB, VA TECH.

Hosley is a little undersized, but is still a big time playmaker. Va Tech has been turning out great corners. Titans lost their #1 CB in free agency and need a replacement.

53. Cincinnati- KENDALL REYES, DT/DE, UCONN

Reyes is a fast rising D-Line prospect that could sneak into the 1st round.

54. Detroit- JEFF ALLEN - OT – ILLINOIS

Allen could be the starting left tackle one day.  I expect the Lions to take an O-lineman in the first two rounds.  Keeping Stafford upright is priority #1.

55. Atlanta- CAM JOHNSON, DE, VIRGINIA.

Johnson has great size and speed and is the best player available. Depending on FA, O-line may be the biggest need. DE/OL and TE are all areas that should be addressed in the draft.

56. Pittsburgh- DEVON STILL [DE/DT; PENN STATE]

Still is 1st round value but falls due to the deep DT class. He could go as high as the Broncos in Round 1.

57. Denver- BROCK OSWEILER, QB, ARIZONA ST.

The 6’6” QB is one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft.  He can make all the throws but needs to improve his mechanics. Denver loves this guy and he can sit behind Manning.

58-Houston- VINNY CURRY, DE/OLB, MARSHALL.

An upgrade at OLB is needed with the loss of Mario Williams.

New Orleans-  Forfeit

59. Green Bay- ALAMEDA TA'AMU, NT, WASHINGTON

Ta'amu is rising up draft boards, has great potential at NT.

60. Baltimore- BRIAN QUICK, WR - APPALACHIAN STATE

Small school prospect with good size, he should land somewhere in round 2.

61. San Francisco- AMINI SILATOLU, G, MIDWESTERN ST.

Silatolu is the D2 stud in this draft. He can play 4 positions on the O line, has great athleticism.  The 49ers/Pats are looking at him in Round 1.

62. New England- ZEBRIE SANDERS, OT, FLA ST.

Sanders is the best value here. Zebrie Sanders played LT at Florida State this year, after 3 years at right tackle.  The 6-foot-6, 307-pounder was an average LT and should be moved back to his natural RT spot. The Pats have their Left Tackle of the future in Nate Solder.

63. New York Giants- LAMAR MILLER (RB; MIAMI)*

He is the #3 or 4 RB prospect in the draft but falls in the pass happy NFL; which is good news to Giants fans.  I think this pick could be the steal of the draft as Miller is next in line as a great Canes RB heading to the NFL. Miller played through shoulder injuries for the Canes and still flashed his untapped potential. He looks a lot like Titans running back Chris Johnson with a little Shady McCoy thrown in for good measure.  He may be the BPA at this point and is great insurance with Jacobs gone.

Round 3

64. Indianapolis- JARED CRICK, DE/DT, NEBRASKA.

A 1st round talent falls due to injury, great fit at the 5-technique.  Colts are switching to the 3-4 and need some bodies that fit the new scheme.

65. St. Louis- KELECHI OSEMELE, OG/OT, IOWA ST.

Osemele was very solid during the season; he may be the best O-Lineman available and can be developed into a solid starter along the interior.  More protection for Bradford.

66. Minnesota- JOSH NORMAN, CB, COASTAL CAROLINA

Norman is flying up boards. Vikings need secondary help, Cook hasn’t shown much yet.

67. Cleveland- A.J. JENKINS - WR – ILLINOIS

Continue to add weapons. A fast rising WR prospect.

68. Tampa Bay- BRUCE IRVIN, DE/OLB, WEST VIRGINIA.

Irvin has the size and speed necessary to get to the QB.  An upgrade at OLB is needed.

69. Washington- MARVIN MCNUTT, WR, IOWA

McNutt has two things going for him: He's a polished route runner from a pro system, and won't drop balls. The Skins need a great possession receiver, with a large frame to help RG3.

70. Jacksonville- T.Y. HILTON, WR, FLA INTERNATIONAL

The Jags need a lot of help at WR. Hilton is a speedster who displays great route and return skills.

71. Buffalo- GEORGE IOLKA, FS, BOISE ST.

Iolka has potential to be a stud FS. He has great size and speed but looked a little stiff in drills at the Combine.

72. Miami- DWAYNE ALLEN TE, CLEM.

They can now run 2 TE sets. They need offensive weapons after trading Brandon Marshall.

73. Miami (f/Chicago - from Carolina)- BRANDON THOMPSON, DT, CLEMSON.

Improves the pass rush and Thomson excels at stuffing the run. 2nd Round value

74. Kansas City- CHRIS POLK, RB, WASHINGTON.

Even when Charles comes back, the Chiefs will need a between the tackles runner. Jones is getting old and Battle doesn't have the wow factor. The signing of Peyton Hillis should not stop them from selecting a talent like Polk.

75. Seattle- MITCHELL SCHWARTZ - OT – CALIFORNIA

O-Line depth.

76. Houston – (f/Philadelphia)- DAVID MOLK, C, MICHIGAN

Molk is sturdy enough to play center, or can move to guard.

77. New York Jets- NATE POTTER, OT, BOISE ST.

Here’s your new Right Tackle Jets fans. Potter lacks the footwork to be a quality LT in the NFL but the Jets just need to get Wayne Hunter off the field…quickly

Oakland-Supplemental Draft Pick

78. San Diego-SHAUN PRATER, CB, IOWA

San Diego doesn't have much depth in the secondary. Prater is a solid #2 corner.

79. Chicago - DEREK WOLFE - DT – CINCINNATI

Underrated prospect who could sneak into round 2

80. Arizona- JURON CRINER, WR, ARIZONA

Criner (6’2, 200) is a big possession receiver.

81. Dallas- CHASE MINNIFIELD, CB, VIRGINIA

Stock down due to injury history.  Minnifield is a solid corner with muscle. He doesn't provide flash, but can keep up with receivers and make tackles.

82. Tennessee- SEAN SPENCE, OLB, MIAMI

I think Spence is going to have a great career; he’s always around the ball and runs sideline to sideline.  His stock falls because he is undersized

83. Cincinnati- MATT REYNOLDS, OT, BYU

Reynolds is a sound tackle with great footwork.

84. Atlanta- ORSON CHARLES, TE, GEORGIA

The Franchise Tag on CB Grimes and trade for Asante makes corner less of a need. Charles is the best TE available and a steal in the 3rd.

85. Detroit-MICHEAL BREWSTER, G/C, OHIO ST.

Brewster is sliding. He has size and strength but lacks the technique to succeed at C. Still he's the best player available for the Lions. He can learn behind the aging Raoli or slide to guard.

86. Pittsburgh- SENIO KELEMETE, G, WASHINGTON

Kelemete is a sound blocker and can upgrade either G position. Steelers need to continue to build the O-Line

87. Denver- BERNARD PIERCE, RB, TEMPLE

Pierce is establishing himself as a decent three down back. He has the size to take the NFL's abuse.

88. Philadelphia – (f/Houston)- KIRK COUSINS, QB, MICHIGAN STATE

Philly will take a QB at some point.

89. New Orleans-MARCUS FORSTON, DT, MIAMI

New Orleans D was poor to say the least. They lack the ability to get pressure up the middle.

90. Green Bay-LAMICHEAL JAMES, RB, OREGON

James is the best player available. He can make for a dangerous weapon and add another element in the Pack offense.

91. Baltimore- ANDREW DATKO, OT, FLORIDA STATE

Datko was the starter at Left Tackle and projected to go much higher.  But he missed the season due to injury and slides down team boards.

92. San Francisco- BOBBY WAGNER, LB, UTAH ST.

Wagner is a heavy hitting linebacker. He is showing speed and size to play all LB positions.

93. New England- TOMMIE STREETER, WR MIAMI

The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder has deep speed with the size to beat smaller CB’s in man coverage. Streeter is a raw prospect with great upside and can just run go routes his 1st season to open up the field for all of Brady’s weapons.

94. New York Giants- RYAN BROYLES - WR – OKLAHOMA*

A great WR prospect to replace Mario Manningham. Coming off ACL surgery he would have been a high 2nd Round pick.

95. (Comp) Oakland Raiders: JONATHAN MASSAQUOI, OLB, TROY

Raiders need some rush Linebackers to get after the QB.

ROUND 4

96. St. Louis Rams - LEONARD JOHNSON, CB, IOWA ST.

Johnson is a great man corner who is a 2nd round value.

97. Indianapolis Colts - MARVIN JONES - WR – CALIFORNIA

Time to get Luck some more weapons.

98. Minnesota Vikings - JOSH CHAPMAN, DT, ALABAMA.

Big man to play next to Williams.

99. Houston Texans (f/Philadelphia Eagles) - JAKE BEQUETTE, LB, ARKANSAS

BeQuette is a very solid pass rusher. He showed great skills playing OLB at the senior bowl.

100. Cleveland Browns - TRAVIS LEWIS, OLB, OKLAHOMA

Lewis has been one of the best LB's in college the last three years. He suffered some injuries this year, but could be a steal here.

101. Jacksonville Jaguars - BILLY WYNN, DE, BOISE ST.

Wynn is good value here and the Jags could use multiple picks on the pass-rush.

102. Washington Redskins - BRANDON MOSLEY, OT, AUBURN

Continue to upgrade the O-Line.

103. Miami Dolphins - JULIAN MILLER, DE, W. VIRGINIA

The Fins could be looking for multiple players on the defensive line.

104. Carolina Panthers - MATT MCCANTS, T, UAB.

The Panthers need to add depth on the O-Line.

105. Buffalo Bills - BRANDON BROOKS - OG - MIAMI (OHIO)

The Bills need to upgrade the right side of their O-Line.

106. Seattle Seahawks - JAMELL FLEMING - CB - OKLAHOMA

The Seahawks need depth at the CB position.

107. Kansas City Chiefs - AKIEM HICKS - DT - REGINA

The Chiefs could look for depth at the NT/DE position.

108. Denver Broncos - LUCAS NIX - OG – PITTSBURGH

Help for the interior O-Line.

109. Washington Redskins - NICOLAS JEAN-BAPTISTE, DT, BAYLOR

Jean Baptiste tore up the Sr. Bowl and is moving up boards.

110. San Diego Chargers - NIGEL BRADHAM - OLB - FLORIDA STATE

A steal here and another option to get after the QB.

111. Chicago Bears - MARKELLE MARTIN, FS, OKLAHOMA ST.

More secondary help.

112. Arizona Cardinals - JOE ADAMS - WR - ARKANSAS

They could look at WR as early as Round 1.

113. Dallas Cowboys - BEN JONES, OC, GEORGIA.

Interior O-Line depth.

114. Philadelphia Eagles - CLIFF HARRIS - CB - OREGON

Depth

115. Tennessee Titans - ANTONIO ALLEN - SS - SOUTH CAROLINA

The Titans could spend multiple picks in the secondary.

116. Cincinnati Bengals - AARON HENRY - FS – WISCONSIN

More secondary help.

117. Detroit Lions - TERRELL MANNING - OLB - NORTH CAROLINA STATE

Outside linebacker is a need.

118. Cleveland Browns (From Atlanta) - DONNIE FLETCHER - CB - BOSTON COLLEGE

The Browns could be looking for another CB to add depth.

119. Pittsburgh Steelers - ALFONZO DENNARD [CB; NEBRASKA]

Stock is way down, off the field issues. One time 1st round prospect.

120. Denver Broncos - MARVIN MCNUTT - WR – IOWA

More WR weapons for Peyton.

121. Houston Texans – TONY BERGSTROM - G/T - UTAH

Bergstrom can plat right tackle or guard.

122. New Orleans Saints - DEQUAN MENZIE - CB - ALABAMA

They need to add cornerback depth

123. Green Bay Packers - KEVIN REDDICK, LB, NORTH CAROLINA.

The Packers don’t have many pressing needs. So they go BPA.

124. Buffalo Bills (From Baltimore) – RUSSELL WILSON – QB - WISCONSIN

The Bills might be looking to take a mid-round QB to backup Fitzpatrick.

125. San Francisco 49ers - EMMANUEL ACHO - OLB – TEXAS

They could use multiple picks to keep up the great pass-rush.

126. New England Patriots –PHILLIP BLAKE, OC, BAYLOR.

Blake can play anywhere along the interior O-Line, good depth for the Pats and their future Center.

127. New York Giants - MICHAEL EGNEW - TE – MISSOURI*

A big, athletic TE who could start if Martellus Bennett doesn’t work out and Jake Ballard doesn’t come back from injury.

128. (Comp) Minnesota Vikings: DUKE IHENACHO - SS - SAN JOSE STATE

 129. (Comp) Oakland Raiders: DWIGHT JONES, WR, N. CAROLINA.

Jones (6’4, 210) is a big bodied receiver with untapped potential.

 130. (Comp) Baltimore Ravens: DWIGHT BENTLEY, CB, LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE

Great value at CB.

 131. (Comp) New York Giants: DONTE PAIGE-MOSS, DE/OLB – NORTH CAROLINA*

Paige-Moss was projected as a first rounder at one point in time, he’s worth the risk here and the GMEN love to take DE’s.

 132. (Comp) Green Bay Packers: DAJOHN HARRIS, DE, USC

Harris will make a great 3-4 end.

 133. (Comp) Green Bay Packers: JEFF FULLER - WR - TEXAS A&M

 134. (Comp) Minnesota Vikings: CHRIS GIVENS - WR - WAKE FOREST

More WR targets for Ponder

 135. (Comp) Dallas Cowboys: DEVON WYLIE - WR - FRESNO STATE

ROUND 5

136. Indianapolis Colts- JOSH ROBINSON - CB – UCF

137. Denver Broncos (From St. Louis)- NICK TOON, WR, WISCONSIN.

Denver will need more from their wide receiving corps.  Toon is a great route runner and possession receiver.  The son of former Jets WR Al Toon.

138. Minnesota Vikings- ISAIAH PEAD - RB – CINCINNATI

139. Cleveland Browns- TANK CARDER - ILB – TCU

140. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- TYRONE CRAWFORD - DE - BOISE STATE

141 Washington Redskins- AUDIE COLE - ILB - NORTH CAROLINA STATE

142 Jacksonville Jaguars- RISHAW JOHNSON - OG - CALIFORNIA (PA)

143 Carolina Panthers- JARIUS WRIGHT - WR – ARKANSAS

144 Buffalo Bills - KEENAN ROBINSON - OLB – TEXAS

145 Miami Dolphins - CYRUS GRAY - RB - TEXAS A&M

146 Kansas City Chiefs - ACE JACKSON, CB - CAL POLY

147 Buffalo Bills - OMAR BOLDEN - CB - ARIZONA STATE

148 Oakland Raiders - MARKUS ZUSEVICS - G/T – IOWA

149 San Diego Chargers - JOSH KADDU - OLB – OREGON

150 Chicago Bears - BRANDON LINDSEY - OLB – PITTSBURGH

151 Arizona Cardinals - COTY SENSABAUGH, CB - CLEMSON

152 Dallas Cowboys - BRANDON WASHINGTON, OG/OT - MIAMI (FLA.)

Similar to Orlando Franklin (The U) last year, a 2nd round pick by the Broncos who had a great rookie season.  Washington (6’4” 320lbs) played LT last year at Miami but his natural position is Left Guard. He has great athleticism and a nasty streak that will help out in the run game immediately.

153. Philadelphia Eagles - BRANDON TAYLOR - FS - LOUISIANA STATE

154. New York Jets - CHRIS RAINEY - RB – FLORIDA

A big time playmaker.

155. Tennessee Titans - JERRY FRANKLIN - ILB – ARKANSAS

156. Cincinnati Bengals - RONNIE HILLMAN - RB - SAN DIEGO STATE

157. Atlanta Falcons- CORYELL JUDIE - CB - TEXAS A&M

163. Green Bay Packers- RYAN MILLER - OG – COLORADO

164. Baltimore Ravens- JUSTIN BETHEL, FS - PRESBYTERIAN

165. San Francisco 49ers- JORDAN WHITE - WR - WESTERN MICHIGAN

166. Cincinnati Bengals (From New England)- DARIUS FLEMING, OLB - NOTRE DAME

167 Cincinnati Bengals (f/NYG-Keith Rivers Trade)- LADARIUS GREEN - TE - LA.-LAFAYETTE

168. (Comp) Oakland Raiders: WILLIAM VLACHOS, C - ALABAMA

169. (Comp) Baltimore Ravens: TREVOR GUYTON - DE – CALIFORNIA

170. (Comp) Indianapolis Colts: TYDREKE POWELL, DT - NORTH CAROLINA

Old Mock

ROUND 1

He showed that athletic ability at the Combine where he matched Cam Newton in every category and had better numbers than Tim Tebow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqUH_GMSGIs

    • TRADE ALERT:The Redskins trade up to #2 and select ROBERT GRIFFIN III, Redskins give up pick #6 and #39 to the Rams in 2012 plus two future 1st Round picks.

2. Washington Redskins --ROBERT GRIFFIN III [QB; BAYLOR]

Team Needs -- CB, RB, DT, OLB, RT, C, WR, S

If the Browns do take QB Tannehill it comes down to RB Trent Richardson or CB Morris Claiborne…
I’ve had Richardson here for the past month but now he’s off the board.I don’t think the Bucs will pass on the elite RB if he’s available even though CB is a bigger need.

Blackmon compares to Dez Bryant without the knuckle head factor or a much better version of A. Boldin. They may have had Matt Kalil rated higher but the picks they obtained from the Redskins was enough to move down four spots. Rams need to give Bradford weapons and protection on the O-Line.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars-- MELVIN INGRAM [DE/OLB; SOUTH CAROLINA]

Team Needs -- WR, DE, LG, RT, QB, DT
Melvin Ingram is now the top pass-rush specialist in the 2012 Draft, he and DE J. Clowney where two of the most feared sack artists in all college football. WR is the team’s biggest need but I can’t see GM Gene Smith going after WR Michael Floyd given his character concerns. A reach WR like Kendall Wright is not out of the question as the Jags have been known to surprise on draft day. I don’t think Reiff or Coples are in play here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UuL8H2U-SA&feature=related

He does have a little Phillip Rivers to his delivery and you can see the prototypical size to become a good starting QB and the new Fins head coach was Tannehill’s QB coach at Texas AM.

9. Carolina Panthers -- DONTARI POE [NT; MEMPHIS]

Team Needs -- CB, DT, S, RT, WR, OLB

Dontari Poe was the “winner” of the Combine. People are going as far as to compare him to Haloti Ngata and Poe’s Combine numbers say that’s correct. He was excellent in every aspect of the combine looking nimble in drills and the 40 yard dash while tipping the scales at 350lbs. His stock is very much on the rise and fits perfectly as the NT they need.

He ran much faster at the Combine than most expected (4.4, 40) and has always shown good hands and the ability to physically dominate smaller corners. Additional O-Line help is the other big need area.

11. Kansas City Chiefs -- MICHAEL BROCKERS [DT; LSU]

Team Needs -- CB, RT, WR, QB, RB, NT, S, ILB

He’s not a household name yet but he will be. He’s Stout Run stuffer with the most potential in this class at D-line. DT Dontari Poe outshined him at the Combine but Brockers has the better tape from the 2011 season.

12. Seattle Seahawks -- QUINTON COPLES [DE; NORTH CAROLINA]

Team Needs -- QB, DE, OG, WR, CB, DT

The 6-foot-5, 280 lbs Coples is everything you look for out of a 4-3 DE and has an impressive combination of size and speed. He flashed his freakish ability at the Combine but what struck me was what NFL Analyst Greg Cosell had to say. Cosell mentioned Coples struggles at getting after the QB in 2011 and thinks his best position would be as the anchor at Left D-End in a 4-3 Defenseand that is the need area here.

13. Arizona Cardinals -- LUKE KEUCHLY [MLB; BOSTON COLLEGE]

Team Needs -- LT, OLB, WR, ILB, CB

Keuchly showed all the athletic ability you needed to see at the combine and should be a top 15 pick.

14. Dallas Cowboys -- DRE KIRKPATRICK [CB; ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- C, CB, ILB,S, OG

The secondary is still the biggest problem (even with the addition of CB Carr) and CB’s Kirkpatrick, Jenkins and now S. Gilmore are vying to be the 2nd CB off the board. Both have had off the field issues but Kirkpatrick’s 1 pot arrest was wiped away while Jenkins has numerous arrest and other issues he has to explain. Slight edge here to Kirkpatrick.

15. Philadelphia Eagles -- RILEY REIFF [OT; IOWA]

Team Needs -- MLB, OLB, DT, S, WR, G, C

The season ending injury to stud LT Jason Peters is a huge loss and changes the Eagles options in Round 1.Reiff may be best served as a right tackle given his below average arm length (which drops his draft stock). But this works perfectly for the Birds and the Left Handed QB Mike Vick. Reiff can play one season at left tackle in place of Peters and eventually move over to RT when Todd Herramans can no longer hold it down.

16. NY Jets -- COURTNEY UPSHAW [DE/OLB; ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- RT, WR, QB, S, OLB

This seems too logical to not happen. Upshaw is exactly the type of player this defense needs coming off the edge as a 3-4 OLB. Upshaw can get after the QB and that’s what the Jets need.
Other areas of need are a new RT, pass-rushing OLB and WR/RB. Hearing rumors that Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd is very much in play for the Jets if Plax does not return.Alabama 3-4 outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw would be the ideal pick even though some see him as more of a 4-3 DE given his size.

17. Cincinnati (f/Oakland) --JANORIS JENKINS [CB; NORTHERN ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- CB, LG, WR, RB, S, DE

The Bengals have been one of the best drafting teams after the last few years and have a great young core of players on both sides of the ball. With Leon Hall coming off season ending surgery, Nate Clements up there in age and Pacman and K. Jennings UFA's adding a CB is a high priority

Jenkins could have been a Top 10 draft pick but a couple of drug arrests got him kicked out of Florida. He played last year at Northern Alabama and showed off his skills at the combine. He was honest with all the decision makers at the combine talking about his 3 children with 3 different women and his multiple marijuana arrest. He came off well and seems to have turned his life around and he’s a perfect fit for the Bengals who are now thin in the secondary.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nau0rZReXk&feature=BFa&list=UUG-EvZtNm87WPy0itzmkYlA&lf=plcp

18. San Diego Chargers -- DAVID DECASTRO [OG; STANFORD]

Team Needs -- T, G, OLB, DE, ILB, CB, SS
The Chargers need to re-work their entire O-Line and can start with the best Guard prospect in the draft. He’s the rare interior O-Line prospect that is worth a top 20 pick and is actually a steal here.

19. Chicago Bears -- JONATHAN MARTIN [LT; STANFORD]

Team Needs -- LT, WR, TE, G, S, DE, LB

Martin stands 6’6, 305 pounds and is your prototypical Left Tackle prospect, this move would keep Gabe Carimi at RT, need meets value with this pick.

21. Cincinnati Bengals – LAMAR MILLER (RB; MIAMI)

Team Needs -- CB, LG, WR, RB, S, DE

Cedric Benson is a free agent, they did sign The Law Firm away from the Pats but youth is needed.
Miller played through shoulder injuries for the Canes and still flashed his untapped potential. He is the #2 or 3 RB prospect in the draft; I think this pick could be the steal of the draft as Miller is next in line as a great Canes RB heading to the NFL. He looks a lot like Titans running back Chris Johnson with a little Shady McCoy thrown in for good measure.

22.Cleveland Browns (f/Atlanta)-KENDALL WRIGHT [WR; BAYLOR]

Team Needs -- LT, WR, CB, SLB, C, RB, FS

The Browns keep this pick and use it to add an offensive weapon. Wright’s draft stock was on the decline after running poorly at the combine. Most were expecting a sub 4.4 forty and he ran a 4.61. His stock is now back up after running in the 4.4’s at his pro day. The thing is when you watch the tape he plays fast and that’s all that really matters. This would be a welcome addition for the Browns to pair with Greg Little and a new RB.

23. Detroit Lions -- MIKE ADAMS [OT; OHIO STATE]

Team Needs -- OT, LB, CB, C, RB, DE, S

I’m predicting this is the year the Lions finally get their franchise Left Tackle to protect Stafford. The OSU Tackle was on the rise after a great Senior Bowl but fell back a bit after an average Combine so his draft stock is in limbo right now.I don’t think the Lions can afford to pass on Adams’s talent at pick 23. A Corner and outside linebacker are also needs for Detroit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx6k8TkQypk&feature=related

24. Pittsburgh Steelers -- CORDY GLENN [OT/OG; GA.]

Team Needs -- LG, LT, NT, DE, ILB, CB

Most have a linebacker pegged for this pick or even a 3 or 5 technique D-Lineman. You have to believe their top priority is to keep Big Ben healthy so I’m giving them the top O-Lineman available who’s draft stock is really on the rise after an amazing Combine. Glenn is from a pro offense and can play LT/ OG or RT. Everyone’s ready to move him away from LT but his tape shows some signs that he can stay there with improved footwork.

25. Denver Broncos -- FLETCHER COX [DT, MISSISSIPPI ST]

Team Needs -- CB, DT, WR, C, G, RB, MLB, S

The Broncos are still looking for that DT to bring pressure up the middle while their outside linebackers continue to create havoc. This is a great year to need a DT. Do they go need at DT or give Peyton Manning more weapons like GT WR Stephen Hill…I’m thinking DT…for now.

He's a great talent who just needs time to develop.GT keeps sending out WR prospects with tremendous upside, it’s just a shame GT still runs the triple option and these weapons are underutilized

27. New England (f/New Orleans) -- NICK PERRY [DE/OLB; USC]

Team Needs -- WR, CB, S, C, DT, DE, OLB

Perry is the pass-rusher the Pats need and as the Giants can tell you; nothing covers up a suspect secondary like a great pass rush. The Patriots run both the 4-3 and 3-4 fronts and Perry fits as a DE or OLB.
The last time they had pick #27 they traded it to the Packers…they selected OLB Clay Matthews. Keep this pick Bill.

28. Green Bay Packers – ANDRE BRANCH [DE/OLB; CLEMSON]

Team Needs -- OLB, DE, CB, RB, OT, S, C

The Packers need a big time pass-rusher opposite of Clay Matthews. Branch excels at getting to the QB and a great fit in the Packers 3-4 D.

30. San Francisco 49ers -- DEVON STILL [DE/DT; PENN STATE]

Team Needs -- WR, G, CB, S, DE

The 49ers really don’t have many needs given their solid overall roster and WR free agent signings. They could look to add a young 3-4 DE to play the 5-technique as the best player available. I don’t see a guard here worth the 30th pick as that may be their only real need area.

31. New England Patriots -- STEPHON GILMORE [CB; SOUTH CAROLINA]

Team Needs -- WR, CB, S, C, DT, DE, OLB

It seems the Pats are always drafting CB's around this spot and Gilmore is another tall (6’0” 190 lbs) CB who projects well into their system.

32. NY Giants - - DONT'A HIGHTOWER [ILB; ALABAMA]

Team Needs -- TE, OL, RB,OLB, CB, MLB

The Giants need a Middle Linebacker and after Luke Keuchly, Dont’a Hightower is the best available and good value for the Super Bowl Champs. Hightower may be a better fit for a 3-4 Defense but he’s talented enough to work in any scheme including the Giants 4-3 base Cover 2 Defense.
At 6-foot-2, 250 pounds, Hightower is a physical run stuffing linebacker who has the strength to shed blocks and attack the ball carrier. He was the leader and signal caller for the best college Defense and his overall presence improves the Giants already talented D.
A big time TE like Stanford’s Colby Fleener is possible with Jack Ballard and Travis Beckum both tearing their ACL's in the Super Bowl. O-Line is the biggest need area but no one presents value here unless one of the four top Left Tackles happens to fall or versatile O-Line prospect Cordy Glenn.

ROUND 2

33. St. Louis-
BOBBY MASSIE, OT, MISSISSIPPI.

Fleener was Luck’s security blanket at Stanford is a better value than any receiver here and willl be a great blocking/catching TE for Luck.

He ran great at his pro day and shed more weight, I can’t see a talent like this fall past the Vikings. He’s a potential #1 WR to go along with their new franchise Left Tackle.

36. Tampa Bay- ALFONZO DENNARD [CB; NEBRASKA]

Two years ago they went back to back DT’s, last year they went back to back DE’s. So how about this year they go back to back CB’s

37. Cleveland- BRANDON WEEDEN, QB, OKLAHOMA STATE

Weeden played pro baseball (Yankees, 2nd Round) out of High School and is 28 years old, if he was five years younger he’d be looked at as late 1st round prospect. He is pro ready now.

38. Jacksonville- MOHAMED SANU WR RUTGERS.

The Jags have to get Gabbert some weapons to see if he’s any good, expect multiple WR picks.

40. Carolina-CHASE MINNIFIELD, CB, VIRGINIA.

Minnifield is a solid corner with muscle. He doesn't provide flash, but can keep up with receivers and make tackles.

41. Buffalo-
BROCK OSWEILER, QB, ARIZONA ST.

The 6’6” QB is one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft. He can make all the throws but needs to improve his mechanics. He decided not to participate at the Combine claiming he had a foot sprain from several months ago.

42. Miami-MARK BARRON [SS: ALABAMA]

Barron is a mid-first round talent but could fall due to team needs. He has not been able to work out since Hernia surgery but if everything checks out he could go as high as the Jets or Packers in round 1.

43. Seattle-
KENDALL REYES, DT/DE, UCONN

Reyes is a fast rising D-Line prospect that could sneak into the 1st round.

44. Kansas City-
NICK FOLES, QB, ARIZONA.

If they miss out on Tannehill, Nick Foles is up next. He has huge upside and can't be passed on.

45. Dallas-VINNY CURRY, OLB, MARSHALL.

Spencer is inconsistent; they need a real threat opposite OLB Ware. His stock should shoot back up after his pro day. CB and Safety and O-Line are the other need areas.

46. Philadelphia- BRANDON THOMPSON, DT, CLEMSON.

Thompson excels at stuffing the run. Eagles love to beef up the D-Line and this can free up their DE’s.

48. New England–( f /Oakland)-KELECHI OSEMELE, OG/OT, IOWA ST.

Osemele was very solid during the season; he is the best player available and can be developed into a solid starter along the interior.

49. San Diego-RONNEL LEWIS, OLB, OKLAHOMA.

The Chargers need a player who can get to the QB. Lewis is a straight line pass rusher who can replace English.

50. Chicago-JAYRON HOSLEY, CB, VA TECH.

Hosley is a little undersized, but is still a big time playmaker. Va Tech has been turning out great corners and in the north; there is plenty of receivers who need to be covered.

51. Philadelphia - from Arizona- ZACH BROWN OLB N.C.

Brown has freakish athletic ability and is the best value here as a WILL linebacker.

52. Tennessee- PHILLIP BLAKE, OC, BAYLOR.

The center position is a must upgrade. CJ needs a center that can open up holes for him.

53. Cincinnati- JURON CRINER, WR, ARIZONA

Criner (6’2, 200) is a big possession receiver, a perfect complement to AJ Green.

54. Detroit- TRUMAINE JOHNSON, CB, MONTANA ST.

Johnson (6’2, 200) has great tools and possesses a large frame. He is flying up draft boards. The Lions need secondary help and Johnson can play CB and SS.

55. Atlanta- CAM JOHNSON, DE, VIRGINIA.

Johnson has great size and speed and is the best player available. Depending on FA, O-line may be the biggest need. DE/CB and TE are all areas that should be addressed in the draft.

56. Pittsburgh-JARED CRICK, DE/DT, NEBRASKA.

A 1st round talent falls due to injury, great fit at the 5-technique.

57. Denver-NICK TOON, WR, WISCONSIN.

Denver will need more from their wide receiving corps. Toon is a great route runner and possession receiver. The son of former Jets WR Al Toon.

58-Houston- CHANDLER JONES, DE/OLB, SYRACUSE.

The loss of Super Mario means the pass rush must be addressed and Jones excels at getting after the QB.

New Orleans- Forfeit

59. Green Bay- HARRISON SMITH, SS, NOTRE DAME

Smith is the top talent available. He can be an explosive player with his combination of size and speed.

60. Baltimore- T.Y. HILTON, WR, FLA INTERNATIONAL

The Evans trade was a bust and he will probably be gone. Hilton is a speedster who displays great route and return skills.

61. San Francisco- BRANDON BOYKIN, CB, GEORGIA.

The Niners need some corner help; Boykin has the size and skillset to be a good one.

62. New England-
BRUCE IRVIN, DE/OLB, WEST VIRGINIA.

Irvin has the size and speed necessary to get to the QB. Pats continue to stockpile pass-rushers.

63. New York Giants-DOUG MARTIN, RB, BOISE ST.

Martin has established himself as a true every down back. He is a good runner with developing blocking skills. He may be the BPA at this point and is great insurance if Jacobs gets cut. Similar to Ray Rice when he came out of Rutgers, also a 2nd round pick.

ROUND 3

64. Indianapolis- JOSH CHAPMAN, DT, ALABAMA.

Colts are switching to the 3-4 and need some bodies that fit the new scheme.

65. St. Louis- ZEBRIE SANDERS, OT, FLA ST.

Sanders is the best value here. Zebrie Sanders played LT at Florida State this year, after 3 years at right tackle. The 6-foot-6, 307-pounder was an average LT and should be moved back to his natural RT spot. More protection for Bradford.

66. Minnesota- JOSH NORMAN, CB, COASTAL CAROLINA

Norman is flying up boards. Vikings need secondary help, Cook hasn’t shown much yet.

67. Cleveland- DWIGHT JONES, WR, N. CAROLINA.

Jones (6’4, 210) is a big bodied receiver with untapped potential. The Browns will need to upgrade their WR’s to help RG3 .

68. Tampa Bay- SHEA MCCLELLIN, LB, BOISE ST

An upgrade at outside linebacker is needed.

69. Washington- MARVIN MCNUTT, WR, IOWA

McNutt has two things going for him: He's a polished route runner from a pro system, and won't drop balls. The Skins need a great possession receiver, with a large frame for whoever the new QB will be.

70. Jacksonville- BRIAN QUICK, WR - APPALACHIAN STATE

The Jags need a lot of help at WR.

71. Buffalo- GEORGE IOLKA, FS, BOISE ST.

Iolka has potential to be a stud FS. He has great size and speed but looked a little stiff in drills at the Combine.

72. Miami- DWAYNE ALLEN TE, CLEM.

73. Miami (f/Chicago - from Carolina)- KEVIN ZEITLER, G, WISCONSIN

Another great Wisconsin interior lineman.

74. Kansas City- CHRIS POLK, RB, WASHINGTON.

Even if Charles comes back, the Chiefs will need the between the tackles runner. Jones is getting old and Battle doesn't have the wow factor.

75. Seattle-MATT REYNOLDS, OT, BYU

Seattle has gaps on the O line. Reynolds is a sound tackle with great footwork.

76. Houston – (f/Philadelphia)- DAVID MOLK, C, MICHIGAN

Molk is sturdy enough to play center, or can move to guard.

77. New York Jets- JEREL WORTHY DT/DE MSU.

Worthy can play DE or play NT.

Oakland-Supplemental Draft Pick

78. San Diego-SHAUN PRATER, CB, IOWA

San Diego doesn't have the secondary to keep up with Oakland and KC's passing game. Prater is a solid #2 corner.

79. Chicago - LAVONTE DAVID, LB, NEBRASKA

David is one of the better LB's in the draft. He is just way undersized. Really moving up draft boards.

80. Arizona- SEAN SPENCE, OLB, MIAMI

I think Spence is going to have a great career, he’s always around the ball and runs sideline to sideline. His stock falls because he is undersized

81. Dallas-ANTONIO ALLEN, SS, S. CAROLINA

Dallas has the cash to fix its O-Line via the deep free agent market. The secondary can't last against NY and Philly. Allen is a great value at this point and can start immediately.

82. Tennessee- AMINI SILATOLU, G, MIDWESTERN ST

Silatolu is the D2 stud in this draft. He can play 4 positions on the O line, has great athleticism. Titans continue to improve the interior O-Line which again helps Chris Johnson.

83. Cincinnati- NATE POTTER, OT, BOISE ST.

Potter lacks the footwork to be a quality LT in the NFL. He can slide to RT and enters a system that can teach him to be a very talented OT in the future.

84. Atlanta- ORSON CHARLES, TE, GEORGIA

The Franchise Tag on CB Grimes makes corner less of a need.

86. Pittsburgh- ANDREW DATKO, OT, FLORIDA STATE

Datko was the starter at Left Tackle and projected to go much higher. But he missed the season due to injury and slides down team boards.

91. Baltimore- VONTAZE BURFICT [MLB; ARIZONA STATE]

Burfict needs to do some damage control after an awful Combine. His tape was great in 2010 but he took a step back in 2011. Burfict is blaming his college coaches for not using him properly, that won’t help his cause come draft day. The Ravens GM has taken on good players with character concerns in the past and the Ravens may be the best landing spot for the violent linebacker. Ray Lewis can teach him how to be a pro.

Edit: need to move him down to 4th round

Check the highlights on Vontaze Burfict:

92. San Francisco-JAKE BEQUETTE, LB, ARKANSAS

BeQuette is a very solid pass rusher. He showed great skills playing LB at the senior bowl, he will become a great rotational guy on an already stacked front seven.

94. New York Giants- BRANDON WASHINGTON, OG/OT - MIAMI (FLA.)

Washington is the best value here and a steal. McKenzie is a free agent, and even if resigned, the Giants could use depth at both Tackle spots and Left Guard.

Just a perfect fit for the Giants.
The Giants starting O-Line could be: LT Will Beatty, LG Brandon Washington, C David Bass, RG Chris Snee, RT David Diehl.

95. (Comp)Oakland Raiders: BOBBY WAGNER, LB, UTAH ST.

Wagner is a heavy hitting linebacker. He is showing speed and size to play all three LB positions.

ROUND 4

96. St. Louis Rams - BRANDON MOSLEY, OT, AUBURN

Continue to upgrade the O-Line.

97. Indianapolis Colts - SENIO KELEMETE, G, WASHINGTON

To keep with the new offensive philosophy, the line must continue to be rebuilt. Kelemete is a sound blocker and can upgrade either G position.

98. Minnesota Vikings - ALAMEDA TA'AMU, NT, WASHINGTON

Ta'amu had an up and down year, but still has great potential at NT. 2nd round value.

99. Houston Texans (f/Philadelphia Eagles) (From Tampa Bay) - MARVIN JONES - WR – CALIFORNIA

Wynn is an easy 2nd round value.

102. Washington Redskins - LEONARD JOHNSON, CB, IOWA ST.

Johnson is a great man corner who is a 2nd round value.

103. Miami Dolphins - JULIAN MILLER, DE, W. VIRGINIA

The Fins could be looking for multiple players on the defensive line. After taking a DT, they may also take a DE.

107. Kansas City Chiefs - KEVIN REDDICK, LB, NORTH CAROLINA.

The Chiefs could look for depth at the linebacker position.

108. Denver Broncos - LUCAS NIX - OG – PITTSBURGH

Help for the interior O-Line.

109. Washington Redskins - NICOLAS JEAN-BAPTISTE, DT, BAYLOR

Jean Baptiste tore up the Sr. Bowl and is swiftly moving up boards.

110. San Diego Chargers - NIGEL BRADHAM - OLB - FLORIDA STATE

111. Chicago Bears - MARKELLE MARTIN, FS, OKLAHOMA ST.

112. Arizona Cardinals - JOE ADAMS - WR - ARKANSAS

113. Dallas Cowboys - BEN JONES, OC, GEORGIA.

119. Pittsburgh Steelers - MYCHAL KENDRICKS - ILB - CALIFORNIA

LB could be addressed earlier.

120. Denver Broncos - MARVIN MCNUTT - WR – IOWA

121. Houston Texans - EMMANUEL ACHO - OLB – TEXAS

Mario Williams is gone.

122. New Orleans Saints - DEQUAN MENZIE - CB - ALABAMA

They need to add cornerback depth

123. Green Bay Packers - MICHAEL EGNEW - TE – MISSOURI

The Packers don’t have many pressing needs.

124. Buffalo Bills (From Baltimore) – RUSSELL WILSON – QB - WISCONSIN

The Bills might be looking to take a mid-round QB to backup Fitzpatrick.

125. San Francisco 49ers - TONY BERGSTROM - G/T - UTAH

The 49ers could use some depth on the offensive line. Bergstrom can probably play tackle or guard so he adds nice depth.

126. New England Patriots – DAJOHN HARRIS, DE, CAL

Harris will make a great 3-4 end in NE.

127. New York Giants - DONTE PAIGE-MOSS, DE/OLB – NORTH CAROLINA

Paige-Moss was projected as a first rounder at one point in time, he’s worth the risk here and the GMEN love to take DE’s.

128. (Comp)Minnesota Vikings: DUKE IHENACHO - SS - SAN JOSE STATE

129. (Comp)Oakland Raiders: A.J. JENKINS - WR – ILLINOIS

130. (Comp)Baltimore Ravens: JORDAN WHITE - WR - WESTERN MICHIGAN

131. (Comp)New York Giants: CHRIS GIVENS - WR - WAKE FOREST

132. (Comp)Green Bay Packers: AKIEM HICKS - DT - REGINA

133. (Comp)Green Bay Packers: JEFF FULLER - WR - TEXAS A&M

134. (Comp)Minnesota Vikings: DAJOHN HARRIS - DT - SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

135. (Comp)Dallas Cowboys: DEVON WYLIE - WR - FRESNO STATE
